Collecting Climbs

Home > Climbs > Organisations

Last update:  22-Jun-2003

Collecting things and stuff is normal human behaviour. One collects stamps other collects passes and climbs. Once collecting passes was a normal thing to do one also want to know who has the most extended collection and I assume that's how organisations dealing with climbs were born.
The organisations below all have some system to measure the prestaties of climbing passes. With such a system you can make lists of persons ranked to the highest points. Some people find this important while other people just want to exchange information with other pass-enthousiasts.

BAG Certificate, Adventorous Climber (=BIG10): 500 climbs. In between certificates BIG6-9 after 240, 300, 360, 430 climbs.

Remarks:
The samenstelling of the list is strange: why exactly 1000, how are cols selected? Some famous climbs are not on the list:
The list contains many mistakes in especially in names. The reason of question marks behind the names are not clear and the 6 climbs of Andorra lie in Spain.
It's not clear if B.I.G. 1-4 also requires the rule of 10 differnet countries
