Terrific full-colour maps that cover the footpaths of the Alps, provence, the Southern Rhone corridor, and Corsica. didier Richard cartography is based on ign mapping and shows the geographical terrain. Most didier Richard maps are at 1:50,000 scale. Each map has contour lines at 20 metre intervals, with useful relief shading. Each map shows the well known and the smaller less well known footpaths of these natural regions. Each map has a key in English and French, and shows mountain rescue points, refuges, viewpoints and ski-lifts.
Topografische kaart (met hoogtelijnen). Veel informatie, kaart niet altijd even scherp in details
The "Sιrie Verte" Green series maps are ideal for all those wishing to get to the soul of a region by making excursions with a car, a horse or even a bicycle: all the Roads, all the villages are shown as well as the vegetation and the relief. All Roads are graded and numbered. Contours, tracks and GR paths are shown. The scale of these maps is 1:100,000 or 1cm = 1km or 1 inch = 1 mile Each map covers an area of 90km x 110km
Michelin maps have allmost all a good map needs: nice readiblity (the right
colors), very detailed (churches, road connections, tunnels), complete (allmost
all small roads are visible), tourist information and determination of ascending
roads (arrows, altitudes, elevation/relief).
They did however a dirty trick with the new division of France, Spain and Switzerland
(scale 1:200.000/300.000). The old division was in rectangles with no or little
overlap. Now for France and Spain there are maps per Departement/Province which
means much overlap. Switzerland is divided in 3 maps but 2 maps (East and West)
should be enough. The newer maps cover a greater area which means that will
be used more frequently and have more folds and therefore the lifetime of these
maps will be shorter. For France the serie Carte Detaillée (38 maps)
has been replaced by the serie Carte Local (45 maps). The new scale is between
1:150.000 and 1:180.000, however the information on the map is exactly the same.
Michelin just resized the maps!
Another unbelievelable thing I noticed is that the latest maps don't show altitudes
of places and cities anymore!
So mister Bibendium can you explain why you do this?? I doubt if you have asked
your clients about this new policy.
