HALO CHEATS

XBOX

Hint: Alternate ending sequence:
Successfully complete the last level of the game in campaign mode under the legendary difficulty setting. The new ending features a human and alien fighting hand to hand. The human will say "Its over", and then they hug because they know the explosion will kill them both.

Hint: Final ending scene:
Successfully complete the game on any difficulty setting and wait for the credits to end. The game will show the Monitor fly across the screen and laugh.

Hint: Faster reloading:
To reload most weapons faster, press X and shortly after that press B to melee. Note: For the shot gun this will cause you to stop reloading all together.

Hint: Extra ammunition:
If you shoot your fellow Marines you can pick up their ammunition. Make sure to only kill a straggler unless you are prepared to take on all of the Marines. They will turn on you if you kill more than one of them.

Hint: Extra shotgun ammunition:
Take a shotgun that has 12 shots and 0 clips. After you shoot it a few times, you should be able to reload manually. You can do this about ten to twenty times.

Hint: Faster Warthog weapon use:
This trick works best in multi-player mode. Drive the warthog in a straight line. When you see an enemy, jump out of the Warthog. Tap X repeatedly and sidestep to the right. If you are quick enough, you will exit the Warthog and jump on the LAAG gun without stopping, while the Warthog slows down. This also works well on ice, because you keep sliding.

Hint: Defeating Covenants:
When Covenant dropship is getting ready to unload a group of Covenants, throw a grenade into the door as it opens. The blast will kill several of the enemies since they are all in one area.

There are places (especially in the first level) where a groups of Covenants are, waiting for you to barge in and start shooting. If you can, sneak to the aliens and throw a grenade into their midst. It is best when a plasma grenade sticks to a Grunt, because he will run behind the rest of his companions. One simple grenade can take out five Covenants.

When trying to kill Covenants, jump over them (so you can look at their back) then shoot or hit them with the butt of your gun.

Hint: Defeating Elites:
Find a needler and waste a clip on an Elite during the early levels. This will take out the Elite and the gathered needles form grenade-like explosions, injuring if not killing anything near the target.

Hold R to fully charge a Covenent energy pistol. You can continue to hold the charge indefinitely. Find an Elite and blast him. Depending on the distance to him, he will sometimes flex and get angry. When he does this, walk up and punch him with the pistol. On the easy difficulty setting, he will die immediately.

Hint: Defeating Flood types:
Do not try to take out any Flood types with a sniper rifle. It will simply go through their bodies without killing them. The weapon of choice is the shotgun. You can take them down with one shot. Remember, the closer they are, the faster they fall.

On the small crawling Flood, use your assault rifle in short controlled bursts. Once one pops, it will also pop the ones nearby. Save shotgun and pistol ammunition for the working class Flood to drop them fast. It is also a good idea to hit them with your gun after they fall to make sure they are dead. On the fat Flood, use the shotgun to pop them, then clean up with rifle.

When you first meet the Flood, they will outnumber you in groups. For the large Flood, use a shotgun, rocket launcher, or most importantly, a fragmentation grenade. Do not use a plasma grenade because they will run towards you and kill you.

When you get attacked by the Flood, after you make them fall down the first time, shoot their head off while they are on the ground. They will not get back up.

Most of the Flood attack you with weapons and strong melee attacks with their arms. Some of the combat form Flood are harmless. They may chase you, but they cannot inflict any damage. You can tell that they are harmless by noticing that they have no arms. Do not waste ammunition on these harmless flood -- just melee attack them. Be careful not to mistake the harmless for the harmful types.

To end all Flood types quickly under the easy difficulty setting, crouch down and shoot their legs with the shotgun. You do not have to crouch yet when they are swarming on you -- it seems to confuse them. Stay crouched, pivot, and fire. Also try to alternate shooting, crouching, and shooting, etc.

Melee any Flood that are too close. This will buy time to shoot other Flood and save your Shield. This also works against jumping Flood.

When battling the Flood, use human weapons such as rockets, frag grenades, pistols, assault rifles, and especially shotguns. After you have knocked one of the enemies down, hit them with the butt of your gun to kill them permanently.

Hint: Fun with the Flood:
Use the human handgun to shoot the weapon out of the Flood's hand, without shooting off the limb. The Maw is a good place to try this.

Hint: Defeating Flugs:
In the later levels of the game you will encounter new enemies called Flugs. These enemies will be small at first, but they will attack and control anything alive. Use a shotgun on these baby Flug as they tend to group in large numbers. By using the shotgun it will send a storm of bullets and kill most of them that are around. Use a shotgun on the possessed Flug, and it will kill most of them in one shot. This is made easier by the fact that most of them carry shotguns.

Hint: Defeating Grunts:
When the Grunts are sleeping you can beat them to death with the butt of your gun without waking up any of the other Grunts. You can usually kill a four to seven of them before an alien spots you. They start sleeping in level 5, Assault on the Control Room. Just remember not to shoot or they will wake up.

Hint: Defeating Hunters:
Normally Hunters are the hardest Covenant to kill, due to their powerful armor and shields. However, even the strongest armor has weak spots. If you look at their necks or backs, you can see an orange spot. Aim for it. One shot with any gun will kill them if you hit them there.

The best way to kill a hunter is to use a sniper rifle to zoom in on the orange spot.

When you see a Hunter, you can shoot them in the head with a sniper. It should kill them instantly.

If you are being chased by a Hunter or an alien with a sword, run backwards while facing the alien. Jump when they try to slash you. Throw a plasma grenade at the alien and it will stick to him. Turn around and run in a zig-zag pattern to make sure he does not catch you in the explosion.

If you are playing cooperative multi-player mode, have player two run in front of the Hunter until his back is turned to player one. While the Hunter is trying to turn player two into mush, have player one run up to the Hunter's back and melee attack the orange spot. The Hunter should die with one hit.

You can kill the Hunters in a head-on assault. Get in close and use the pistol or shotgun. Aim for the head holding down the trigger. Your first shot(s) will knock back the head, exposing the unarmored neck. One shot in the neck and they will die.

An easy way to kill a Hunter is to hit them with a vehicle. If you chase them with the vehicle, they will try to dodge.

Throw plasmas grenades on them. It may take a some practice to get them stuck on a Hunter, but with two grenades, he will probably be dead (depending on the difficulty setting). Note: Do not stand too close or you may be blown up, and the plasma grenade will not stick to his shield.

Hit Hunters with a melee attack. They will put their head down and the orange spot there can be seen. Melee attack that spot to kill them faster.

Shoot a Hunter in the orange spot in his midsection with a shotgun at point blank range. This will kill it on every setting, including legendary.

If sniping Hunters is not fun for you, try this. Approach a Hunter, being sure to avoid any blasts from his fuel rod cannon. Shoot him a few times to make him charge, and as he starts his melee attack, quickly sidestep around him until you face his back. If done correctly, you should be looking at his back before he finishes his attack. When you are looking at the back, shoot it as many times as you can before he turns around. For even more fun, charge as you are shooting his back and press B when in range for a melee attack. The best gun for this attack is the shotgun, but the assault rifle also works.

Hint: Defeating Jackals:
Use a photon weapon to destroy a Jackal's shield quickly.

When you encounter a Jackal, run up and hit it with your weapon or get out a gun that uses bullets, not energy.

When you are a far way away from Jackals and have a sniper, they will sit in the defense position and leave very little uncovered. You will notice that on the right or left is a small notch in the shield. Aim for it and the Jackal population will be severely decreased.

If you are having trouble killing the Jackals because your ammunition deflects off the shields, just get close enough and melee attack them from the front. This can save parts of your shield and a lot of your ammunition.

Hint: Easy kills:
To kill someone, it is often easier to run him over rather than shooting him. If you shoot him, it will take a few hits. If you run him over, it will take only one hit.

Hint: More gore:
After defeating any of the aliens, especially the Elite, go over to the dead body. Repeatedly press B. After a few hits the area around of the dead body should have more blood around it. The Grunts and the Hunters will not put out as much blood as any other alien.

Hint: Easy Banshee kill:
Wait until a Banshee is directly above you, then shoot it in the belly with your shotgun. On the easy difficulty setting, it will explode with one shot. Moving forward when you do this can keep the wreckage from falling on you.

Hint: 343 Guilty Spark: Active camouflage:
Just before the area where the Covenant are guarding the entrance to the facility containing the Flood disease, you will see a large rock on the right side of the screen. Jump above the rock to find an active camouflage hidden behind a bush -- look carefully.

Hint: 343 Guilty Spark: Shortcut:
Tap X to get back in the Pelican. It will fly onto a ledge. Walk along the ledge in the direction you are going to end up above the tunnel where the Marines are fighting. Jump down to the tunnel, then continue the level.

Hint: 343 Guilty Spark: Hidden area:
This trick works in co-op multi-player mode and perhaps in campaign mode. When you are about to land in the Pelican at in the beginning of the level, start throwing grenades as fast as you can out of the ship. When you are around your fifth, sixth, or seventh grenade, you will get hit with a grenade, but not take any damage. When you are out of grenades, wait in the ship. It will liftoff the ground and fly you to a strange area with two dimensional trees. You can see the edge of the level. You can get back to the normal level easily, by jumping down from where you are.

Hint: 343 Guilty Spark: Hidden Marine:
Go to the two dimensional place and keep walking straight until reaching a sort of wall. Walk along the side of it, then take a left once you get past it. Keep walking straight. You will notice a figure in the distance. Keep walking forward and it will turn out to be a Marine.

At the start of the level, during the opening FMV sequence press the grenade button before you get out of the Pelican. If done correctly, you will stay in the Pelican. It will land on a nearby hill. Press X to exit the Pelican. You will be able to walk around on top of the level and see a group of two dimensional trees and a marine. He will not talk to you unless you shoot him. If you look down, you can see were you are supposed to be and the structure you are supposed to enter. Jump down there and look in to see floating assault rifles.

Hint: 343 Guilty Spark: Deadly bubbles:
When you get dropped off by the Pelican, run to the front of the ship. In front of the ship you well see a rock. In front of that is two trees. In front of the two trees is another rock. If you go to the left of the rock, you are in very deep water. Duck to get underwater. If you shoot, you will see bubbles. If you shoot at the lily pads, the bubbles will kill you.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Easy completion:
Go to the area where the Goliath tank is located. Take out the tank, but do not go past the pond that it sits on. After you take it out, look up on the wall until you find a ledge sticking out with a light on it. Shoot the middle of the pad on the underside. This may take a few attempts until you get the Banshee that falls off the ledge. Get in and fly down the tunnel. Take out the Hunters at the bottom, then get out and open the door. Fly to where the bridge is broken and take that enemy out. Get out of the Banshee and snipe the enemies on the other side of the gap. Get in the Banshee and fly to the door. Open it and fly through. Keep going in the Banshee until you get to the area with the second tank. Go to the ledge and grab the other banshee on the large middle island. Take it and keep flying in the same direction until you see two bridges. Go to the one next to the one above the door on the ground. Go until you come out on the bridge where the "I wish I had a super weapon" message appears. Take one of those and fly to the top of the pyramid and finish the level. This is a good way to easily complete this level under the legendary difficulty setting.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Sniping location:
As you exit the lower door into the valley, head to the large vertical support for the pyramid. There is a large crack where this support is anchored in the ground. Jump in -- there are weapons and health located here. After arming yourself with the rockets and sniper rifle, go to the beginning of the vertical support. Hop on it and start walking up. You cannot go all the way to the pyramid, but you will be high over the enemy, who you can pick off at will. The tank is the only weapon that can hit you. However, if you go to the correct location the snow bridge that you crossed will block the shots. This will work going in and when you exit later.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Spinning ring:
At the Halo start up screen, choose multiplayer mode. Choose cooperative play at the next screen, then choose your profiles at the next. Choose the level where in the beginning it says, "I would have been your daddy" (Assault On The Control Room). On the difficulty screen, choose legendary. When the level starts after the introduction sequence, have one of the players quickly press X when the "Press X to get on the Pelican" message appears. That player will re-board the ship and start flying with it down the hole. The other player will quickly die because of the aliens, and will be respawned on the spinning ring. Make sure to jump where there are gaps. If you are good enough, you can even jump to a nearby ledge. Additionally, once you are respawned on the ring, quickly jump off and fall to your death. Sometimes you will be respawned on the lowest ledge in all the blue haze, and a "Press X to flip the Pelican" will appear that the top of the screen very briefly.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Fun with weapons:
Where you cross the bridge, and all the little guys are sleeping, press B to hit them and quickly kill them. Leave one on the left or right still sleeping. Throw a plasma grenade on the turret. They will scream and sometimes get in the turret. Get back and watch the him fly out of the turret and fall to the ground very far below. Sometimes the turret will fall on him. When the dropship flies over and the other people with the shields start shooting at it, go up behind them and throw a plasma grenade on his head. He will run around and explode. Sometimes, he will fly all the way down to the ground below. Finally, when you get to the Banshees (flying alien vehicles) fly as high as you can. Then, floor it to the ground and hit people on the ground. Press L to shoot missiles and R to shoot lasers. Also, you can fly as high as you can and jump out. You will fall for a while, then hit the ground with a big "ch-wunk".

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Music from Myth:
Get towards the end of the level. Take a Banshee in the open area and go up to the Control Center. Locate the middle ledge that are around the central pillar in front of the door. Maneuver the Banshee so that is parallel to the walkway, and facing the left (with respect to the door), then land. Get out of the back carefully without falling. Walk to the right edge of the ledge and remain idle to eventually hear music from the PC game Myth.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Early Banshee:
Get the rocket launcher and sniper rifle from the area where your men are fighting near a flipped Warthog. Play the level until you get to the Scorpion Tank. Take the tank through the cave. There will be a small hill after the cave. Kill the Wraith Tank from on top of the small hill. Take any enemies out without passing the small hill. Get out of the tank and turn around to your right. Look up and you should see a platform with a blinking light. Note: if you move past the little pond that the Wraith Tank was on, there is an elite guard there that will pilot the Banshee, thus costing you to lose the chance of getting it. Take the rocket launcher and fire at the center of the platform (underneath). This may require a few shots. When you hit the correct location, you will see the Banshee fall off the platform and to the ground. The Banshee is now yours for the taking. You can find another Banshee on top of the large pillar in the center of the canyon after the caves.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Later Banshee:
At the end of the level when you begin crossing the snow covered bridge, after the "...If I had a super weapon" message appears, run straight ahead until you see the first controllable Banshee. Shoot near either the first or second Banshee with your rocket launcher. It will fall off the bridge and be available when you emerge from the ground floor door when you have to climb the pyramid structure to end the level.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Steal Banshee:
Get a rocket launcher during the second time you get attacked by a Banshee in the level (under the easy difficulty setting). After you kill the second Banshee, go past the two Hunters then kill the rest of the enemies. You will encounter two more Hunters after you meet up with about six of your men on the ice patch. Kill them and you will reach the next big outdoor area, where you fight a group of little Convenant on top of the cliff with one tree in the middle of some rocks. Do not go past that battle area or the rocks that the Convenant have taken cover at. After you defeat them, go to the wall on your far left, directly above the cliff. You will see a little rock. Stand on it. It should be sitting just at the base of the large cliff wall. Stand directly on top of it. You should now how the third Banshee attacks. You must know where he appears (before he takes off in order to get it. Try and spot the Banshee just laying around in the far background of the outdoor field. You can jump and try to spot the Banshee if necessary. After seeing it, equip your rocket launcher, use the scope to get the best aim, and fire at it. Jump and shoot in order to get a good shot. Keep firing until you have flipped the Banshee on its back. Then, go over there. Ignore the Convenant shooting at you until you get to the flipped Banshee. There will be a tall Convenant just standing there. Kill him, flip the Bashee over, and it is yours. Take advantage of the opportunity to explore the level with it, including getting to the ground at the bottom of the bridges.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Kill Master Chief:
When you get to the end of the level, just before you press the switch to open the last door, get a Ghost. Line it up with the center and get out. Press the button and quickly get back into the Ghost. Just as the door opens, drive forward. When the intermission sequence starts, the Master Chief will be killed by the Ghost. The sequence continues, but there is no Master Chief. When the camera shows a certain angle, you can see him laying at an angle, propped up on his gun.

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Funny line:
Gave snipers get on your Scorpion tank and keep them there. When you get to the place where you have to drive the tank down a hill/circle ramp do not go there. Instead, take out the turret on the other side, then let the snipers take care of the grunt. After the grunt dies one of them will say, "I would have been your daddy, but the dog beat me over the fence."

Hint: Assault On The Control Room: Dancing bodies:
During a cooperative multi-player game, go to any elevator in the level and ride it to the bottom. Once there, take turns killing each other on the elevator. Make sure you wait for your partner to respawn before you die. When you have killed each other (no limit of bodies), send your partner on the elevator with the bodies while the other person remains next to the elevator switch. When the elevator is about halfway up, have the person that is standing next to the elevator button rapidly press X. The person on the elevator should see the bodies dancing on the elevator. Sooner or later everything on the elevator slips through the bottom and falls. Look at the player next to the button to see the green bodies fall to the bottom of the hole.

Hint: Beach: Three Warthogs:
Get in the Warthog and drive around to the second group of trees. You will find another Warthog. Get in and proceed through out the level. When the supply ship crashes there will be another Warthog, giving you a total of three.

Hint: Halo: Fast kills:
During level 2 "Halo", you will hear the warning "Take cover -- Covenant ship is in boundaries". Run into the ship that you landed in and wait for the enemies to appear. Your motion detector will indicate when they are present. They will eventually walk by, not noticing you. Throw a grenade and start shooting to kill them much faster.

Hint: Halo: Flip the Banshee:
Play the level under the legendary difficulty setting. Take out one of the Banshees while fighting the first group of Covenant by the rocks. You can just start fighting, then run to kill the Banshee. The other should land. This is actually much easier to do with the human pistol -- just use the scope.

Hint: Halo: Drive off cliff:
Get to the part where you can get in the Warthog and go off the cliff. Jump out of the Warthog. The Warthog will fall. You can see it fall or stay in it to fall off and die.

Hint: Halo: Fog fall:
In the room where you activate the energy bridge, proceed through the level until you make it outside. Then, go back in the building. The bridge will not be on. There is a small ledge hanging out of the side with glass in the middle on the right side of you. Ramp the Warthog off it. Your Marines will die, but you will make it down into the fog.

Hint: Halo: Sniping location:
When you go to the second life boat, get the sniper rifle and ride the Warthog to the right of the first structure and up the hill. Note: This will only work if you go up the shadow of the tree. This is very useful under the legendary difficulty setting.

Hint: Keyes: Funny comment:
On the level after you rescue Keyes, have Keyes stand between you and a Covenant. Shoot him once on the back or somewhere where he will not die. He will crouch and say "Hey, watch your fire, amigos!"

Hint: The Maw: Grunt message:
There is a Grunt in the level that will give you a message. To get to him, go all the way past where the drop-ship is going to pick you up. About three rooms after that, there will be a shortcut to your right. Go in it. In the middle will be two doors, to your left and right. Unlike the shortcuts, the door to your right will be open. Enter it. At the end of the hallway, get out of the jeep and the Grunt will be there. He tells you something that sounds like "It's a good thing there was food on this Starship cuz I worked up a big mighty thirst!"

Hint: The Maw: Killing enemies:
Use the following trick to kill the two Hunters, the Sentinels and the Flood. When you are in the maintenance access ways, you will see a black Grunt run from the Flood directly in front of you. Kill the Flood and turn left instead of going straight where the hunters are. Go where the Grunt went. When you get there, the Grunt will be standing in the doorway. Kill him and you should be in an enclosed room with many dead bodies on the ground. When you enter, turn to your right to find be some burning boxes. Go to them, and the Sentinels should be on the other side of the blast door. Shoot the glass and the bullets should go through the door and hit the enemies on the other side. The glass should not break, so the enemies cannot shoot you back.

Hint: The Maw: Surprise attack:
At the start of the level in heroic mode, look out of the hole where you begin and fire a weapon down at the ground. Two Sentinels will appear and attack you. If you try to run away, two to four more will appear behind you.

Hint: The Maw: Destabilize engine:
When you open the vents, instead of going to the bottom floor to destroy the engines, jump on the coupling that is moving away from the engine. From there, destroy the engine. When the couplings start to pull back and reach the platform where the computer you pressed to pull the couplings back is located, jump back on it. Note: You cannot make the jump if you are on the white part of the couplings. To make it, there is a brown part on the very end of the couplings. You have to jump from that part to make it across.

Hint: The Maw: Save time:
On the last part when Echo 4-19 is supposed to pick you up and Cortana tells you to stop, do not do it. It is a waste of time because Echo 4-19 has been hit and crashes where you land. Keep driving straight towards the next beacon.

In The Maw level, when you are driving the Warthog through the Pillar of Autumn, there is a curvy hallway you have to go through where there are a lot of the metal flying robots. On the left wall when you enter the hallway, there is a hole that you can drive your Warthog into. This cuts off the entire long curvy hallway and takes you out at the end of it, saving lots of time. Note: This was done under the Legendary difficulty setting.

Hint: The Maw: Extra Warthog:
When you are about to go to the part where Echo 419 goes down, immediately after the jump is a warthog, sitting directly under it. This is in case a Banshee shoots yours off the cliff.

Hint: The Maw: No Flood in engine room:
Play through the level as usual until you get to the engine room or the first time you go to the open armory. Before you go into the room, turn your flashlight on. If it is a cooperative multi-player game, have player two watch the back door with his flashlight on while player one gets all his items, then switch. Once you both get your ammunition, walk backwards out of the armory then continue as usually. If done correctly, there should be no Flood in the engine room. Note: You still may run into the invisible Flood in the armory and the little Flood in the engine room, but not the big ones.

Hint: The Pillar Of Autumn: Shields:
In level 1, there are some empty airlocks that the Covenants have entered from. After killing the Covenants, go inside to find two extra shields. These shields are better than your normal shield protection.

Hint: The Pillar Of Autumn: Different messages from Marine captain:
Depending on which difficulty setting you select, the captain of the Marines says a different motivational speech. From something soft in the easy setting, to something brutal with the legendary setting.

Hint: The Pillar Of Autumn: Invincible marines:
In the first mission, when you get your pistol from Keyes, go back to him. Melee attack him or shoot him. Cortana will say something and call for backup. You might want to have extra ammunition. The door to the right (when you are going back out) will open, and lots of invincible Marines will appear and attack you.

Hint: Two Betrayals: Skateboarding:
At the bottom of the pyramid is a Banshee. Get in it and go to the middle of the pyramid (lengthwise). Go up that object there and it looks like you are grinding. To do spins, hold Right Analog-stick Right or Left. To do a grab trick, go very high. Get out of the Banshee and get back in very quickly. To do a stall, do the same thing as grinding, only stop mid-rail.

Hint: Two Betrayals: Under bridge hunter blast and dead soldiers:
Proceed as normal until you get to the Banshees/ Fly one back where you started in the control room, then fly under the bridge where you come in. Fly under it a few times, then a green Hunter blast will blow up your Banshee. Land and look where it fired. There is nothing there. If tried in multi-player mode, have player two on the bridge and player one in the banshee. If you fly under the bridge, player one will get killed by a Hunter blast and player two will get killed by a huge blast from a rocket launcher, as if it was fired from a dead soldier.

Hint: Silent Cartographer: Shortcut:
Jump all the way down off the ledge where you see the Chief kick a rock off the edge by getting an overshield from outside. If you make it, look down at the next level. There is another overshield. Jump -- you must land on the overshield or you will die.

Hint: Silent Cartographer: Easy completion:
Take the first Warthog you get and drive it through the entire level. When you get to where you have to go through some trees, back up then ram forward. You will make it, and when you have to get out of it when you are at the "shafted" part, leave it there. When you get back it will be there. At the very end with all the Elites, just plow through them. Note: Make sure you get a passenger and a gunner at the start.

Hint: Silent Cartographer: Fun way to kill a Hunter:
On the way down to the Map room will be a long room with two Hunters that are guarding the ramp that you must descend. Kill one of the Hunters to make things easier, then get in stampede range of the other Hunter. Make him charge at you repeatedly. Try to lure him out the entrance to the room he was in and get him near the dropoff where all the weapons and health packs were located. If done correctly, you will be able to get him to charge at you close enough to the cliff that when you step aside he will fall to his death. You can also jump down this way to a small ledge on the left to skip a lot of this level.

Hint: Two Betrayals: Easy completion:
On the part with the land bridge after the room with Hunters, blow everything up with the rocket launcher. Make sure to get the Covenant Tank. This will make the Banshee fall off the bridge. There will be no enemies remaining. Next, jump (do not fall) onto the support of the control room pyramid. You will lose three life, but there are no enemy to worry about. You can now walk down, get the Banshee, and fly safely up to the big door. Kill the enemy with the Banshee and go to the control room.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Quick kill:
When you are facing a partner in multi-player and you cannot find ammunition, sneak up behind him and hit him in the back for an instant kill.

In split screen multi-player mode, equip you pistol. When you see your opposition, place the aiming circle on their chest. After each shot, aim higher until you are aiming at their head. If done correctly, it only requires three shots to kill and will leave your friends wondering what hit them.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Instant full life:
This trick works better in cooperative mode. If you need life and you have a partner, wait until you have killed 90% of the enemies around you. Then, have your partner hit you in the back with a gun. You will respawn with full life and assault rifle ammo. In single player mode, you can frag yourself but your weapons might fly across the screen and you will need to find them.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Extra ammunition:
In cooperative mode, have your friend kill you by hitting you in back with a melee attack. Then, have him pick up your ammunition, respawn again, and repeat. Have him keep killing you until he is full, then have your player pick up your ammo after he kills you. You will then have maximum ammunition. Note: this only works for the machine gun.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Fly in Ghost:
Go to the multi-player screen with the Slayer, King Of The Hill, and other options. Select "Create" Allow all vehicles in multi-player. Go to either Blood Gulch or Sidewinder. You can find Tanks, Ghosts and Warthogs. Set up a Tank in a strategic place for some fun, then get out, get in a Ghost, and go as fast as you can at the tank, towards the front. When you hit it, you will fly into the air and land hard.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Stuffed in hole:
In the second level in multi-player mode, when you get to the light bridge have one person activate the bridge as another one is about to drive off. The second person (in the vehicle) will be warped to the light bridge switch, but the Warthog is nowhere to be found. You cannot really do anything now. However, if you walk about halfway across the light bridge, you can see the metal "arms" that came out. It is difficult, but possible, to jump down onto the arms. If you have good balance, you can walk on the narrow arm to the wall. Once there, you can duck down and crawl into the hole. Have the second player kill himself so that they are in the hole with you. There is a small drop off that leads down a hallway, then a wall. If one person is against the wall and kill the other one, the other one will respawn on top of their head. The player that just died can duck, jump forward, and land back on the arm. You can either kill your friend or leave him there. Crawl out of the hole and jump back onto the bridge.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Warthog on top of base at Blood Gulch:
Create a multi-player game with two people and enable all vehicles. Take the Warthog and ram it in the side door leading up to the top of the base. Then, have that person hold Up so it does not fall out. Next, have the other person use the Tank and ram the back of the Warthog. If it does not pop up, try the Ghost and ram it again. if done correctly, the Warthog should pop up to the top of the base. Note: If one side does not work try the other side.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Block teleports:
Take two vehicles and place them over the teleports. This will make it impossible for anyone to escape through the teleport from sniper shots.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Snipe other players in Blood Gulch:
You can easily snipe the other players with a tank. Go to the end of the two parts where there is a large hill. Drive up there in a tank and aim at the other players. You will be able to see the entire level.

Set up a tank against the wall and keep backing up. Have a Warthog drive up it, and it will fly on top allowing you to use the gun on it and tear everyone up.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Ambush in Sidewinder:
In Sidewinder level, go to the blue base. Jump up on the cliff to the left of the base. Then, stand directly outside of the hallway that slants down. Look down, throw a human grenade, and jump. Immediately before it explodes, shoot a rocket down. Hold Back when in the air, and you should make it to a glitched location, with no scenery. Walk around a bit, and you should see a hole that leads to one of the level's tunnels. Stay there until someone comes under the hole. You should be able to jump down and ambush them unexpectedly.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Completing under legendary difficulty:
If you are playing the levels in cooperative mode under the legendary difficulty setting, have one person stay behind and the other one charge into battle. Keep doing this until the room is cleared. Have the person with the worst inventory go into battle. When they lose their items when they die, you will still have the good weapons.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Recommended weapons:
The weapons of choice are a shotgun or rifle, and a sniper. This allows you good coverage for short and long-range battles. The sniper helps you take out people that unaware you are aiming at them or in tanks. The shotgun is useful in close combat. Also, do not forget melee attacks and grenades.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Fun with vehicles:
In multi-player, split screen mode, create a game type that has all the vehicles. Set up the tanks and Warthogs. Get in a Ghost and try to run into the tanks to do some really cool tricks. Your also can Get the warthog to do some tricks,

This trick can take a while to set up, but if done correctly the results are well worth the effort. Get a group of grenades on the ground in one location. In single player this can be done by killing marines and having them drop their grenades. Note: Marines do not seem to drop grenades under the easy difficulty setting, but will do so under the normal setting or higher. In cooperative multi-player mode, have a player pick up grenades from elsewhere, then have the second player kill them at the desired location for them to be dropped. Park a vehicle such as the Warthog on top of the pile of grenades. Throw a grenade onto the pile. The explosion of the first grenade will set off the others a split second later, launching the vehicle on top of them high into the air.

Go to the Blood Gulch level. Set the level on all vehicles. Park the Warthog's tail end touching the base in between one of the gaps of the "shields" up on top. Get the rocket launcher (or tank) and start shooting the Warthog towards the middle of where the it is above the ground. The Warthog will fly up in the air and land on the top of the base. This will not always work on the first attempt -- keep trying. You can do the same with the Ghost, which is easier. Park the Warthog as done before. Then, get some space and hover as fast as you can directly into the center of the warthog. You once again will fly up on top, usually on the first try. Either way, they both make good turrets. Note: You must be careful. If you drive incorrectly on top of the base, you could fall through the center, and thus have no Warthog for the rest of the game. The same applies with a grenade, rocket, tank shell, etc.

Go to multi-player mode, and then to the select game type. Set the game to infinite grenades, rocket launchers for the weapon, and a Warthog as the vehicle. Choose Bloody Gulch as the level. The name of the game is "Hogball". The only objective is to blow the Warthog as high as you can by throwing grenades at it, then shooting it with a rocket launcher or any combination of the two. This gets even more exciting by hooking up two or more systems together. You can have up to sixteen players and four Warthogs. It is possible to get a Warthog to stay aloft for 9 seconds. Also try to hit it with a rocket on its journey back down.

Hint: Multi-player mode: Fun with plasma grenades:
Create your own multi-player settings, and set infinite grenades and all vehicles. Start the multi-player game, then kill yourself. You will get plasma grenades after you have died once. Go to kill the other player. Throw a plasma grenade "under" his body and he will fly all over you. Throw more grenades on him for more fun.

You can also blow up vehicles with your plasma grenades. Throw a plasma grenade on the door of the Warthog and it will make a barrel roll, flipping sideways. Throw a plasma grenade on the front of the car or on the back of it.

Hint: Flashlight:
When you get to the part when the people and aliens infected by the Flood start coming after you, turn your flashlight on and point it at them. The large one will stop running and jumping so that they are easier to shoot. However, if you raise your gun to reload, turn away from them or take the light off of them in any way, they will resume running around and try to kill you again. Although the creatures infected by the Flood stand still when you point the flashlight at them, they may still shoot if they have a gun, so kill them quickly.

Hint: Do it yourself grenade launcher:
Get two plasma grenades. Place a grenade down, then place the second grenade in front of it about one to two feet away. Stand back, and when the first one explodes. it will sent off a duplicate of the remaining grenade. When one of the copies stays, the other blasts off in the direction the first grenade was sent it in. Wait for the second grenade's time to go off and watch the explosion either in the air or on the ground. Note: Do not stand too close, as the grenade may cause injury, burns, and/or even death.

Throw one plasma grenade a few feet in front of you. Since a plasma grenade will explode in about three seconds, count to two and throw another plasma grenade slightly farther up. If timed correctly, the first grenade will explode as the second grenade is above it. This will send the second grenade about 500 meters. This is useful in multi-player games when you want to confuse the enemy to make them think you are closer than you really are. Note: This must be timed perfectly to get this to work or else you will only throw two grenades as normal.

Hint: Fireworks:
If you have just won a game or would like to celebrate, take two plasma grenades and throw them on the same exact spot. The first grenade will explode, sending the second grenade into the air. After about one to two seconds, the grenade will explode blue.

Hint: Rocket Launcher instructions:
If you have a gun with a scope, use it to look at the middle of the Rocket Launcher. You will see a small picture with a man holding the gun with the text "Hold This Way".

Hint: Alternate way to change weapons:
If your weapon change button is Y and your melee attack is B, it can be fun to run up to something while carrying the rifle. Then instead of pressing B, roll your thumb over Y, then B . This will cause the Master Chief to melee with his other weapon without having had to take it out (for example, shooting with the shotgun and clubbing with the rocket launcher). This can also be a sly way of changing weapons.

Hint: Make a team member fly into the air:
When a person gets into the Warthog (gunner's seat), throw a plasma grenade on his body. Move away and watch him fly into the air.

Hint: James Bond-style vehicle change:
Fly low over a Warthog with the Banshee. Press B to jump out, then press B again when close to the Warthog to land in the driver's seat. This works with all seating positions.

Hint: Survive almost any drop with any vehicle:
Immediately before you go off any high drop, send your vehicle into a 360 circle turn. This works best with the Warthog or Ghost. You can fall an incredible distance and receive no damage.

Hint: Do donut in Warthog:
Press Left Analog-stick Left and press Right Analog-stick Right.

Hint: Traitor:
On a level where you can find a group of five or more marines (such as Assault On The Control Room), kill three marines quickly. The remaining marines will call you a traitor (shouting things like "He's loco!") and will start firing at you. If you shoot them, sometimes they will ask you if they owe you money or tell you to clean the mud off your visor.
