GB 'N' Portable projector
British Acoustic films
Sheppards Bush, West London
This projector, which is said to be portable, was a gift of a good friend of mine.
Some special features
- Optical sound head (fixed track)
- Suitable for front AND back screen projection
- One type of sprockets for Maltese cross and Film transport
- 1000 Watt projection bulb (replaced by 250 Halogen 220 Volt AC bulb)
- 220 volt 50 Hz AC
- Original color unknown
- Kidde CO2 fire extinguishers.
- They were mainly designed for the Admiralty, but were used for all the
British Armed services, when they were used to entertain the 'Troops',
after the war lots of them were sold off to private collectors and mobile
shows.
G.H.Bell signed in 1947 on as filmprojectionist on The Britannic. Read his story.
In the previous version of this page I erroneously listed this projector as a Kalee portable.
